Skype no longer free to US and Canada

skypeSkype announced, via email, that “After December 31st SkypeOut calls to US and Canada will be charged at the standard SkypeOut rate of ¢2.1 USD (or ¢2.4 CAD) per minute.” Bummer, I was kind of hoping that they would keep it free, despite the original plan of only keeping it free until the end of the year. This kills everyone’s skype/stanaphone incoming/outgoing trickery as well. I guess ebay isn’t making enough money from auctions to keep skype free (sure..)

So far, I haven’t come across any more free PC to phone solutions out there.
