Newt Gingrich still doesn’t get it
Jan 23, 2008 Ron Paul, politics
Although that doesn’t surprise a lot of people.
I have been receiving emails from Newt Gingrich and others, through their newsletter system, just because I was curious to see what they had to say. It is an increasing source of frustration for me that Newt continually talks about change in monetary policy (to an anti-inflationary monetary policy) and the dollar’s woes due to Fed interest rate cuts and bogus “stimulus packages”. Yet, neither he, nor other neo-conservatives, will ever mention Ron Paul, despite his desperate desire to go back to a small spending, small taxing government, and a humble foreign policy. Coupled with a sound currency, Ron Paul’s plans are a recipe for success. It is no wonder Reagan personally endorsed him. So what is the problem? The issue is obviously that the war is too much of a dividing issue – some people still think that policing the world, preemptive war, entangling alliances, and borrowing endless amounts of money from the Fed and China to fund an exorbitant war sounds like a good idea.
As unpatriotic as it sounds, I have come to the conclusion that if we don’t fix these problems, the American people will be getting exactly what they deserve. Thomas Jefferson warned us many many times about this. The Constitution was specifically designed to prevent this sort of thing from happening, but since we’ve largely ignored it, we have the Fed (an unconstitutional private corporation) throwing the dollar down the toilet, and a president who doesn’t mind going to war without a declaration of war. Mind you, Democrats, that the congress also voted for further funding for the war, which is costing taxpayers $1.4 billion dollars a day.
It is high time we changed this government. Ron Paul is the only candidate that is talking about real change. Wake up Newt.
